چکیده

Introduction A newly introduced compatible dual-echo arteriovenography (CODEA) is a technique for simultaneous acquisition of time-of-flight (TOF) MR angiogram (MRA) and blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) MR venogram (MRV). The technique improved the previous dual-echo MRA/MRV technique (1), by maximally separating the K-space center regions for the two echoes achieved through an echo-specific K-space reordering scheme and by applying scan parameters compatible between the MRA and MRV. Because of the less restriction to the RF pulse parameters (e.g., excitation RF pulse profile, flip angle, MTC pulse), MRA (first echo) and MRV (second echo) can be acquired with optimal RF pulse parameters for each K-space center region. Pursuant to the echo-specific RF pulse parameters, the multiple overlapping thin-slab acquisition (MOTSA) and MTC pulse were incorporated into the CODEA and their effectiveness was assessed on improved image quality.

Compatible dual-echo arteriovenography (CODEA) using an echo-specific K-space reordering scheme.

An improved dual-echo sequence magnetic resonance (MR) imaging technique was developed to simultaneously acquire a time-of-flight MR angiogram (MRA) and a blood oxygenation level-dependent MR venogram (MRV) in a single MR acquisition at 3 T. MRA and MRV require conflicting scan conditions (e.g., excitation RF profile, flip angle, and spatial presaturation pulse) for their optimal image quality....

High Resolution Multispectral qMRI Protocol: PD, T1, T2, T2*, ADC, MT

We implemented a dual sequence version of the mixed-TSE sequence, termed here as tandem-mixed-TSE with the following parameters: pulse sequence 1, dual-echo RARE: TE1=14ms, TE2=27ms, TR=4000; pulse sequence 2, dual-echo RARE with inversion recovery pulse: TE1=14ms, TE2=27ms, TI=400ms, TR=4400ms (Figure 1) (1). Images acquired with these two sequences were used to calculate parametric PD, T1, an...

Three-Dimensional Segmentation and Visualization of Cerebral Arteries and Veins from Simultaneously Acquired MRA and MRV based on Graph-Cuts and Vessel Enhancement Filter

Introduction Accurate segmentation and appropriate visualization of the arteries and veins in the brain improve the detection and characterization of vascular abnormality such as cerebral aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation and tumor vascularity. Traditional 2D projection display of vascular images such as minimum-intensity projection (minIP) of veins in MRV offers limited visualization of com...

Common SENSE (sensitivity encoding using hardware common to all MR scanners): a new method for single-shot segmented echo planar imaging.

A new method is presented that enables image acquisition to be segmented into two readouts. This is achieved using a new pulse sequence that creates two components of magnetization with different spatial profiles. Each component of the magnetization is measured in one of the readouts. This produces two images with complimentary "sensitivity profiles" and near identical contrast. The images can ...

Verse - Space

Introduction Use of nonselective refocusing pulses shortens the echo spacing and the echo train duration, and then improves the image sharpness in SPACE [3, 4] imaging. However, the nonselective refocusing pulses limit the application of slab selective acquisition. To overcome this limitation, a dual echo-spacing technique [1] has been presented before, using a combination of selective excitati...
